Welcome to SCOOP Lacrosse and STRIKE Field Hockey

The Premier Youth Girls' Lacrosse and Field Hockey Programs with a Focus on Fun and Fundamentals

Mission
The mission of SCOOP Lacrosse and STRIKE Field Hockey is to teach the fundamentals of lacrosse and field hockey while ensuring that each child has a positive experience learning the games.

History
Several years ago, Kim Richter and Lynn Dwyer, who between them have six girls under ten years old, were lamenting the dearth of lacrosse programs for young girls in the Philadelphia Main Line area. At the time, the Main Line had strong lacrosse programs for girls starting in 3rd grade but no programs for younger girls. So Kim and Lynn decided to start a lacrosse program for first and second grade girls, one that would be instructional, spark interest in lacrosse, and most of all be fun. SCOOP Lacrosse was founded in 2006, had its first spring season in 2007 and has been growing ever since. In the spring of 2011 over 600 girls played SCOOP Lacrosse in the suburbs of Philadelphia and in SCOOP's expansion area on the Northern Shore of Boston.

While SCOOP was thriving and expanding, it was brought to Lynn and Kim's attention during the summer of 2010 that there was just as much of a need for field hockey programs on the Main Line as there was for lacrosse. Even more apparent was the lack of field hockey for girls all the way through the 6th grade level. Kim and Lynn launched STRIKE Field Hockey in the Fall of 2010 and STRIKE had over 200 participants in its inaugural season.
